This morning, make your way to your local airport for your flights to Mexico City. Each pilgrim will book their own round-trip flights to and from the Mexico City Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX). American, Delta, and United all have good flight choices.

Choose a flight that has you arriving no later than 2pm on January 29. This will allow Hope of the Poor to arrange group transportation to the Convent.

Our housing in Mexico City is at the Convent Real Monastery De Jesus Maria, Cda. Francisco Moreno No. 129, Col Villa de Guadalupe, Mexico City. This beautiful Convent is located in the shadow of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Upon arriving at the Convent, we will check into our rooms. Tortas will be served for us to eat while listening to a briefing, followed by a tour of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, home to the Tilma of Juan Diego occupying the living image of our Blessed Mother. You will marvel at the brilliantly colored Basilica made in her honor. At 7pm we will celebrate Holy Mass together at the Convent followed by dinner.

After dinner, relax, visit with your fellow pilgrims, and feel free to pray in the beautiful Chapel. Plan to get some good rest tonight.

Our morning starts with breakfast at the Convent followed by a beautiful Holy Hour in the Chapel.

We will then make our way to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe for Holy Mass.

For lunch, we will experience an authentic, lively taco spot for delicious and unique street tacos.

Next, our journey leads us to the start of a full immersion into Our Lady of Guadalupe where we will serve the poorest of the poor at the Mexico City homeless women’s shelter.

In addition to serving the poor, we will take some time for a fun Cablebus Gondola Tour providing stunning panoramic views of the sprawling city and its neighborhoods.

Afterward, return to the Convent for a fun rooftop social hour and dinner.

Breakfast will be served at the Convent, followed by Holy Mass in the Chapel.

We will return to the Basilica for free time, and in the early afternoon, depart from the Basilica to the orphanage where we will serve the children for a good part of the day. Jesus reminds us that “the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Mt 19:14)

Upon returning to the Convent, dinner will be served.

After breakfast and Holy Mass at the Convent, we can have free time at the Basilica and/or attend Mass in Spanish.

Then, we will head to the LaRaza community to encounter the poor and serve the former street kids, bringing them food, love, and hope. We will learn to see the poor as a gift and to value them as our brothers and sisters in Christ.

After spending some time with the street kids, we will go for another round of street tacos. The choices are amazing!

We’ll return to the Convent around 8:30pm.

Our day will start with Holy Mass at the Convent followed by breakfast.

Then, we will depart for the Santa Maria Tulpetlac Church (aka Church of the Fifth Apparition) where the Virgin Mary appeared to the uncle of St. Juan Diego, Juan Bernardino, and miraculously healed him from illness. As one of the holiest churches in Mexico City, it was designated as the World Center of Healing by Pope John Paul II.

Then, we will head to the Teotihuacan Pyramids, a vast ancient city and UNESCO World Heritage Site. This pre-Hispanic metropolis was once a powerful cultural and urban center, and its ruins offer a glimpse into an ancient Mesoamerican civilization. We will enjoy lunch at La Gruta
Restaurante, located in a natural cave behind the pyramid of the sun.

After departing La Gruta, we will feed the homeless on the street and hang out with them.

Dinner will be at the Convent.

Breakfast is at 8am at the Convent. The Sisters will prepare tortas for us for our lunch on the go as we travel from one venue to another.

We will depart for the Padre Pro Church and have Holy Mass followed by a visit to the museum there.

Our next stop is at the National Museum of Anthropology to see the world’s largest collection of ancient Mexican art.

Then, we will enjoy a guided visit to the Iglesia San Francisco Church, Palacio Iturbide, Templo Mayor Museum, and the famous Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral, widely considered to be the highest point of viceregal and colonial art, architecture, and craftsmanship.

We will shop at La Ciudadela Artisan Market, and then have our farewell dinner at Miralto Alameda, an upscale restaurant located in the Torre Latinoamericana, that offers panoramic views of the city from the 41st floor.

After dinner we will return to the Convent by 8:30 pm.

In the morning, we will gather for Holy Mass at the Convent, followed by breakfast.

Then, we will check out and depart for the airport. Please plan departure flights between 1pm to 3pm.
